Sekonic Transmitter Module Elinchrom / Phottix for L-858D

The Sekonic RT-EL/PX is an interchangeable radio transmitter module designed specifically for the Sekonic SPEEDMASTER L-858D light meter. It installs directly into the dedicated compartment next to the batteries.

Once installed, and after updating the L-858D firmware if required via Sekonic Data Transfer Software, the module allows you to remotely trigger and control compatible Elinchrom EL-Skyport and Phottix Strato II flashes and receivers.

Sekonic’s mission is to give photographers precise and repeatable control over their lighting. When paired with the L-858D, the RT-EL/PX module allows you to meter light and trigger flashes directly from the light meter, greatly simplifying lighting setup both in the studio and on location.

Elinchrom EL-Skyport Compatibility

With compatible Elinchrom EL-Skyport flashes and receivers, the RT-EL/PX allows you to trigger flashes remotely and, depending on the flash model used, directly adjust their power output.

The system supports up to 20 radio channels, as well as groups G1 to G4 and ALL. It can also control modelling lamp activation and output level on compatible Elinchrom equipment.

This integration allows photographers to make lighting adjustments and take measurements directly from the Sekonic L-858D, without constantly moving between the light meter and the individual light sources.

Phottix Strato II Compatibility

The RT-EL/PX module also supports the Phottix Strato II radio protocol.

It allows you to select groups and trigger flashes such as Phottix Indra, Mitros+ units configured as Strato II receivers, or any other flash connected to a compatible Strato II receiver.

The Phottix system supports channels 1 to 4 and zones A to D.

HSS Flash Measurement

When used with the SPEEDMASTER L-858D, the system also allows precise measurement of flash output during High-Speed Sync (HSS) shooting, provided that the flash equipment being used is compatible.

Simply select the desired ISO sensitivity and shutter speed on the light meter to obtain accurate exposure readings, even when using shutter speeds above the camera’s standard flash sync speed.

Advanced Flash Analysis

The Sekonic L-858D can separately measure the contribution of ambient light and flash, allowing you to determine precisely the percentage of flash in the overall exposure.

It can also measure flash duration, which is especially useful for photography where fast movement needs to be frozen, such as sports, dance, liquid splashes or flowing clothing.

Combined with the RT-EL/PX module, the L-858D becomes a highly complete tool for controlling, measuring and balancing professional Elinchrom or Phottix lighting systems.
