Lightweight design, long reach
Looking for an ideal focal range and exceptional performance, including excellent close focusing capability? Look no further. This lens is perfect for capturing flocks of birds, detailed close-ups of wildlife and insects, and a variety of natural habitats.

Reach up to 800mm
In wildlife and bird photography, reach is everything. Start at 400mm to capture distant subjects in their natural habitat, then extend to 800mm (35mm equivalent) for detailed portraits, all without disturbing the animals.

Extend to 1600mm
This lens is compatible with teleconverters, offering a super telephoto zoom up to 1600mm (35mm equivalent) with the M.Zuiko Digital 2x Teleconverter MC‑20. It is also compatible with the M.Zuiko Digital 1.4x Teleconverter MC‑14 to capture distant wildlife without disturbing them.

Tele + Macro = Close-Up Photography
With a minimum focusing distance of 1.3 meters, this lens enables close-up photography at a magnification of 0.57x (35mm equivalent). Ideal for photographing insects such as butterflies, it also supports Focus Stacking on compatible OM SYSTEM bodies, delivering sharp images with an optimized depth of field.

No more blur and shake.
Easily access the best viewpoints. The M.Zuiko 100-400mm IS II’s built-in image stabilization gives you the freedom to shoot handheld. Its sophisticated system works with any body to compensate for shake and deliver sharp images from every angle.

5-Axis Sync IS up to 7.0 EV compensation
New to this lens is 5-axis Sync IS, offering up to 7.0 EV compensation when paired with a compatible OM SYSTEM body. This advanced technology ensures optimum stability and reliable performance, even in the most demanding shooting conditions.

Experience handheld stability.
Its compact, lightweight design makes it easy to travel to photo spots, lightening your load when searching for birds and wildlife. Smooth handheld shooting without a tripod or monopod lets you capture panning shots of moving subjects whether they’re in flight or on the move.

Versatile Tripod Mounting
A new lightweight tripod collar design allows it to be detached even when the lens is attached to the camera. Its foot is compatible with Arca-Swiss-type clamps, and its shape is optimized for easy transport when held by the collar.

Worry-Free Weather Sealing
When you’re shooting in the wild, weather conditions can be unpredictable. Certified waterproofing eliminates the need for rain covers, keeping your gear dry so you can focus on shooting.

IPX1 Certified Waterproofing
The entire lens is hermetically sealed for IPX1 splash protection and a dust-tight design. This construction keeps out dust and moisture, allowing you to shoot with peace of mind in harsh environments.

Fluorine Coating
The front element is coated with fluorine for added protection. In case of rain, snow or dust, the lens can be easily cleaned with a blower or cloth, allowing you to continue shooting without interruption.
