Voigtländer NOKTON Classic 35mm f/1.4 RF

Classic optical rendering for modern Canon RF cameras

The Voigtländer NOKTON Classic 35mm f/1.4 RF is a fully manual premium wide-angle lens created for photographers who appreciate character as much as technical excellence.

Designed exclusively for the Canon RF mount, it fully covers full-frame sensors while providing seamless electronic communication with compatible Canon EOS R cameras.

A distinctive vintage image signature

Instead of pursuing clinical perfection, the NOKTON Classic embraces the timeless character of traditional optics.

Its symmetrical Double Gauss optical formula, consisting of 8 elements in 6 groups, intentionally preserves subtle optical characteristics that give photographs a natural, organic appearance.

At f/1.4 it delivers:

• exceptionally smooth bokeh
• gentle focus transitions
• impressive subject separation
• cinematic depth and atmosphere

Stopping the lens down increases:

• image contrast
• edge-to-edge sharpness
• overall resolution

This provides photographers with two distinct visual styles in a single lens.

Fast f/1.4 aperture

The bright f/1.4 aperture is ideal for:

• low-light photography
• portraits with extremely shallow depth of field
• strong subject isolation
• beautifully smooth background blur

Its 10-blade circular diaphragm produces perfectly rounded out-of-focus highlights and attractive bokeh.

Premium all-metal craftsmanship

The NOKTON Classic features a robust all-metal construction reflecting Voigtländer's renowned mechanical quality.

Its precision manual focusing helicoid offers exceptionally smooth operation, while the mechanical aperture ring provides direct tactile exposure control appreciated by photographers and filmmakers alike.

Modern electronic integration

Although completely manual, the lens incorporates electronic contacts that communicate with compatible Canon RF cameras.

These provide:

• EXIF data transmission
• support for in-body image stabilization (IBIS)
• compatibility with electronic focusing aids such as Focus Peaking and magnified focus assist

This creates a seamless shooting experience while preserving the traditional manual workflow.

Excellent close focusing capability

With a minimum focusing distance of only 0.27 m, the lens is ideal for environmental portraits, street photography, detail shots and creative close-up compositions.

Its maximum reproduction ratio is 1:5.5.

Metal screw-in lens hood included

A beautifully matched metal screw-in lens hood is supplied as standard, providing effective flare protection while complementing the lens's classic design.
