The Voigtländer APO-LANTHAR 50 mm F3.5 VM lens is a high-performance manual standard lens and is specially designed for full-frame VM-mount sensors. It offers exceptional optical performance in a classic design.

The lens construction consists of eight elements in six groups, four of which are made from anomalous partial dispersion glass to deliver exceptional, uncompromising resolution and contrast reproduction. Imaging performance is impressive with sharp image from edge to center of the image, at all aperture levels.

Thanks to the apochromatic design, chromatic aberrations and other imaging errors are almost completely eliminated. This construction ensures accurate color reproduction and minimizes color fringing, even with high-contrast subjects. The result is exceptional image quality that meets the high demands of discerning photographers. The APO-LANTHAR 50mm F3.5 VM is available in two versions (Type I and Type II), each with two variations:

The Type I interprets the design of classic mid-century rangefinder lenses and is available in black/silver (2-tone) and matte black. The tube of the black/silver version is made of a material mix of brass and aluminum and weighs 245 g, while the body of the matte black version is made entirely of aluminum (weighs only 150 g). The filter diameter is 34 mm, the closing limit is 45 cm.

The Type II has a more modern, but still classic look. There is a silver version made of brass and aluminum weighing 250 g, and a black version in which some components of the tube are made of aluminum (weight 175 g). In contrast to Type I, the filter diameter is 39 mm and the closing limit is 35 cm.

A color-matched lens hood is included in the delivery, as is a front lens hood, always black. The Voigtländer APO-LANTHAR 50mm F3.5 VM is optimized for film and digital VM rangefinder cameras and can of course also be used on mirrorless digital cameras using an adapter.
