The 18-300mm F / 3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD covers an extended focal range from approximately 27mm to 450mm (full frame equivalent). It is the world's first zoom to provide 16.6x magnification for APS-C cameras. It offers all the advantages of versatile zoom lenses suitable for a variety of situations. The optical formula has been carefully determined, and includes several special lenses allowing a 16.6x zoom without compromising the quality of the image. The resolution from the center to the edge of the image remains consistently high over the entire focal range. As with most other Tamron lenses for hybrid system cameras, the filter diameter is 67mm.

The autofocus system of the 18-300mm F / 3.5-6.3 VC VXD is based on VXD linear motor technology developed by Tamron which focuses on the subject both quickly and precisely. Even at 300mm, the focus changes very quickly from minimum to infinite distance. As the autofocus makes this passage practically without any noise, the lens is also ideal for stills and video when absolute silence is crucial.

VC image stabilizer for sharper images
The lens features Tamron's VC stabilization which compensates for unwanted camera movement especially in poor lighting conditions, such as in indoor spaces or during sunsets. It is furthermore equipped with an artificial intelligence that automatically selects the optimum CV setting between 18 and 70mm.
