Tamron opted for a design dedicated to mirrorless cameras and achieved a compact size by setting the aperture to F / 6.3 at 300mm. Measuring just 148x77mm and weighing just 545g, this telephoto lens is the most compact and lightest in its class. Compatible with Nikon Z mount cameras, it was developed to make it easier for photographers to experience the world of 300mm telephoto.

In addition, the AF system incorporates an exceptionally quiet RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) stepping motor. It is compatible with Sony camera features such as Image Stabilizer and Eye AF. You can enjoy a comfortable, precise and fast telephoto lens freehand.

2. Superior optical performance and extreme portability

Continuing the FE 67mm philosophy, Tamron has created a compact lens that makes telephoto shooting comfortable and enjoyable. The optical formula is based on manufacturing using advanced technologies. Tamron has managed to strike a balance between extreme lightness (545g), and compactness (148x77mm), without sacrificing image quality. The optical formula consists of 15 elements divided into 10 groups, with an LD (Low Dispersion) lens element precisely arranged to suppress axial chromatic aberrations that can occur with telephoto lenses. At 300mm, it offers excellent edge-to-edge resolution. All in all, the optical construction (which also contributes to its lightness) coupled with the BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) coating combine to capture crisp and bright images from 70 to 300mm. Optical performance will be further improved by internal corrections to the case.

With this lens, all photographers, from hobbyist to expert, will be able to enjoy the benefits of a powerful and versatile zoom without worrying about size or weight (freed from an internal stabilizer or tripod) . Additionally, the 70-300mm F / 4.5-6.3 maintains a good balance even when used with APS-C size Z mount cameras which are smaller than full frame cameras, therefore, users can also enjoy photography with a telephoto lens equivalent to a 450mm.

3. An exceptionally quiet RXD stepper motor

The AF motor incorporates a sensor that accurately detects the position of the subject while the motor unit moves smoothly. This enables fast and precise focusing on continuously moving subjects taken from the telephoto position. With silent focus, the lens can be used inconspicuously in concert halls or other situations requiring low sound levels, as well as for video recording.

4. Moisture-resistant construction for added protection

Seals are located in the lens mounting area and other critical locations to prevent the ingress of moisture and / or raindrops and allow for a moisture resistant construction. This function provides an extra layer of protection when shooting outdoors in inclement weather conditions.
