Bright standard zoom for the Nikon Z mount system
The 28-75mm F2.8 G2 is compact and easy to use while having excellent optical performance and is compatible with the latest cameras with increasingly higher resolution. The AF motor uses a fast, precise and quiet VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear focusing mechanism. The lens also excels at close-up shooting, achieving a minimum focusing distance of 0.18m at 28mm and a magnification ratio of 1:2.7. Its design offers excellent scratch resistance and a focus ring designed for a comfortable and secure grip.
TAMRON pioneered the bright compact trans-standard zoom category for mirrorless models. From now on, the 28-75mm f/2.8 G2 will be available for the Nikon Z mount as a standard reference lens.
MAIN FEATURES
1. Best image quality in the standard zoom category
This new zoom includes 17 elements divided into 15 groups. Two optimally placed LD (Low Dispersion) and GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lenses control chromatic aberrations. The lens delivers high-resolution edge-to-edge performance, even at wide apertures. In addition, its soft and silky bokeh will be particularly appreciated in portraits. While having an overall compact size, it can make the most of high-resolution hybrid models.
2. Fast and quiet VXD linear motor
TAMRON's VXD Linear AF Motor is extremely responsive from minimum focus to infinity, starting at f/2.8. The lens provides excellent tracking of moving objects, the zoom is always ready to capture stealthy action. Additionally, the motor is quiet, making it ideal for taking photos and videos in situations requiring discretion.
3. Light and compact: 550g
The 28-75mm f/2.8 G2 is a compact and lightweight trans-standard, measuring just 119.8mm long. The maximum diameter is 75.8 mm and it weighs only 550 g. The filter size is 67mm. Easy to carry and lightweight, it is ideal for handheld shooting for long sessions. The 28-75 mm F2.8 G2 aims to become the preferred transstandard for versatile use: travel, street photos, etc.
4. Record minimum focus: 0.18m
The 28-75mm f/2.8 G2 has a minimum focus of 0.18m at 28mm. The working distance is therefore only 4.4 cm. With a magnification ratio of 1:2.7, the subject in the foreground is particularly well rendered with beautiful background blur.
5. Tamron Lens Utility: Professional Customization
The 28-75mm F2.8 G2 is compatible with TAMRON Lens Utility software developed by TAMRON which allows users to easily update the lens 2 and includes focus adjustment functions in photo or video. With these settings3, users can expand the scope of their creativity as photographers and videographers. For example, A-B Focus allows users to position focus on two areas, moving focus from one subject to another with a single click. Users can also choose between Linear and Non-linear MF, allowing them to fine-tune their shooting in manual mode.
6. Improved overall ergonomics
Every part of the lens has been carefully considered, down to the smallest detail, to achieve a design focused on elegance and ease of use. The surface of the exterior is glossy black. Improved abrasion resistance makes the lens barrel more difficult to scratch. In addition, the grip performance of the rings has been improved.
