The 150-500mm F/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD (model A057) not only provides great image quality but it also delivers great ease of use. Despite the imposing focal length of 500mm, its length of 209.6 mm and its maximum diameter of 93 mm make it comfortable to handle. Tamron's first ultra-telephoto lens for Nikon Z full-frame cameras, it features VC Image Stabilizer for sharp handheld shots at 500mm. The optical formula includes 25 elements in 16 groups, including several special glasses including BBAR-G2 coating which minimizes reflections inside the lens while preventing flare effects that appear when shooting against the light . At 150mm, the minimum focus is 0.6m which allows the lens for impressive close-up shots. It is very versatile, from landscape photography to sports photography and wildlife photography.

Fast and precise autofocus to capture the perfect moment

The 150-500mm F/5-6.7 features VXD2 autofocus with a powerful linear motor. The advantages of VXD technology are high speed and precise focusing. The autofocus is very responsive and is able to capture sporting events, fast vehicles, wild animals or birds with absolute reliability. The operation of the linear motor is low noise and virtually vibration-free, which makes the lens usable in video.

VC stabilization for 500mm handheld shooting

When shooting at long focal lengths, even the smallest movements can cause blurry results. The 150-500mm F5-6.7 is therefore equipped with a stabilization system equipped with a mode selector (Mode 1: Standard, Mode 2: dedicated to panning and Mode 3: priority to framing). Whatever the modes and situations, we obtain effective correction of motion blur, even at 500 mm handheld.

Zoom Lock (ZL) Mechanism
Zoom Lock – ZL mechanism prevents unwanted extension of the tube during transport. The lock, which is activated by a switch, protects the lens from damage and at the same time ensures that it is quickly ready for use.

FLR
Fluorine Coating – Fluorine coating protects the front lens from contamination. It prevents oil and water drops from adhering to the surface. Fingerprints and dirt are easier to remove.

Broad Band Anti-Reflection
Broadband Anti-Glare – BBAR multi-layer coating ensures brilliant images with natural colors. It reduces the reflection of light rays hitting the lens surface. The more advanced BBAR G2 treatment has been used since 2019.ASL
Aspherical Lens – Aspherical lenses correct spherical aberrations (focus errors) in zoom lenses. They can replace several other optical elements without loss of quality, thus contributing to a more compact lens design.

Internal Focusing (IF) System
Internal Focus – Internal focus prevents extension and rotation of the barrel while focusing. The lens is easier to handle and can be used with polarizing or dimming filters.

MR
Moisture Resistant Construction – The lens housing is dust and splash resistant. All critical areas have special seals. Lenses with this feature are ideal for outdoor use in bad weather or dirty environments.

LD (Low Dispersion)
Low Dispersion – LD elements have particularly low color dispersion ratings. They reduce chromatic aberrations that appear as color fringing at the contrast edges and reduce image sharpness.

XLD (Extra Low Dispersion) Glass
Extra-Low Dispersion – XLD elements have particularly low color dispersion ratings. They reduce chromatic aberrations that appear as color fringing at the contrast edges and reduce image sharpness.

VC (Vibration Compensation)
Vibration Compensation – Tamron-developed image stabilization that compensates for unwanted camera shake for sharper images. Shutter speeds up to 5 EV slower are possible with the VC Image Stabilizer.

VXD Autofocus
Voice-Coil Extreme-Torque Drive – VXD autofocus ensures fast and precise focusing on objects near or far away. The quiet focus motor responds with lightning speed and is particularly suitable for images of moving objects.
