This lens features a high-performance optical design with four aspherical elements and a large F2.8 maximum aperture, with dimensions of just 74.8 mm in diameter and 92.3 mm in length. The use of specific technical plastics reinforces its durability while limiting its weight to 440 grams, to guarantee excellent mobility and minimal stress during long shooting sessions.

Thanks to careful optical optimization, it offers remarkable close-up capabilities, regardless of focal length. It offers a maximum magnification of 0.3x (Auto MaP)/0.33x (Manual MaP) with a minimum focusing distance of 0.19m (Auto MaP)/0.18m (Manual MaP) at the maximum angle of the range for exceptional close-up performance which, combined with its compact format, makes this lens an excellent choice for tabletop object photography.

Autofocus that exploits the full potential of the body
Two specially optimized linear motors and a precision control system allow you to focus on any subject with remarkable speed and precision. The lens offers excellent tracking performance, even with Sony's advanced α9 III body model at up to 120fps. It ensures smooth, precise and quiet focusing and maintains it perfectly, even when recording 4K 120p or FHD 240p videos at high refresh rates.

The three rings (focus, zoom and aperture) of this lens provide intuitive, direct control and limitless creativity for shooting photos and videos. The aperture stop switch can be turned on or off depending on the shooting situation.

Linear response manual focus provides immediate and intuitive focus control. Internal focusing makes it easy to use 67mm rotating filters, such as variable neutral density filters often used for film.
