Magnificent G Master resolution
Its innovative optical design composed of three Super ED (Extra Low Dispersion) glass elements and one ED glass lens compensates for axial chromatic aberration as well as lateral chromatic aberration. Exceptional resolution and contrast are maintained right down to the smallest corners of the image, making it easier to crop and edit.

A magnificent bokeh effect that highlights subjects
The beautiful flowing bokeh allows you to use a shallow depth of field to make subjects stand out from the background. In addition to the Super ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and ED elements of this new optical design, each lens is individually calibrated during manufacturing to optimize bokeh quality. The 11-blade circular aperture mechanism achieves soft circular bokeh.

AF tracking speed and accuracy are maintained even when shooting at a reduced aperture of F22. The user can shoot continuously while panning to follow moving subjects, or reduce the f-stop to achieve greater depth of field without worrying about minimum aperture limits.

The effectiveness of Sony's Nano AR Coating II is enhanced by rigorous control of reflections inside the lens barrel to limit flare and ghosting for clear, sharp images.

The two powerful XD (extreme dynamic) linear motors with an advanced control algorithm have been specially designed for the SEL300F28GM. They provide extremely fast response to control signals, for precise control of the large aperture focusing element group, with minimal lag and vibration. The result: exceptionally responsive, precise, quiet and low-vibration autofocus.

The lightest in its category with a weight of 1,470 grams
Its optical design, which incorporates Super ED (Extra Low Dispersion) glass elements, has reduced the perceived weight by limiting the number of elements positioned at the front of the lens. This system guarantees optimal balance and reduces inertia, which results in a certain resistance to rotation, thus allowing precise and agile lens movements and panning when shooting.

Excellent AF tracking performance with 1.4x and 2.0x telephoto lenses
Fast and accurate autofocus is ensured even when the SEL300F28GM is used with the optional SEL14TC (1.4x) or SEL20TC (2.0x) telephoto lens.

Integrated optical SteadyShot stabilizer
Built-in optical image stabilization makes it easy to capture sharp handheld images at telephoto focal lengths. MODE 2 provides ideal stabilization for panoramas, while MODE 3 provides optimized stabilization for dynamic and unpredictable sporting events. In addition, compatible bodies ensure precise communication and control between the body and the lens, to better reduce blur.

Function ring
The SEL300F28GM is equipped with a function ring that allows direct control of motorized focus and APS-C/full frame switching. Power Focus: This is the default setting. Rotating the ring triggers constant speed focusing in the specified direction. APS-C/Full Frame: When paired with the corresponding in-body menu function, rotating the ring instantly selects APS-C or full frame.

Dust and moisture resistance and high durability
Optimal reliability thanks to its resistance to dust and humidity. The use of a durable magnesium alloy for internal components combined with other refinements enhances its durability while reducing its weight. Additionally, the front lens features a fluorite coating that protects against fingerprints, dust and other contaminants, while making them easy to clean.

Filter holder and other features
The SEL300F28GM can accommodate standard 40.5mm diameter neutral density filters, as well as Sony's VF-DCPL1 circular polarizing filter. Like other elements, the new sun visor made of very resistant technical plastic ideally combines durability and lightness. A soft cover which protects the lens against vibrations as well as a wrist strap are also provided.
