A new optical formula

The GM II version of this lens gives it a new optical formula further improving its quality, the rates of dispersion, vignetting and other chromatic aberration are further reduced to offer you the best of this focal length.

Light and compact, powerful

The remarkably lighter and more compact format in no way hinders the optical performance which is exceptional. This lens is ideal for compact E-type cameras, since it offers a portable and handy system that is easy to take on hikes, excursions or photo safaris in the mountains, the barrel loses about 1cm. For video, the minimal extension existing between 16mm and 35mm allows use on a stabilizer without having to change the settings. The aperture ring is clickable allowing fluid use for videographers, the focus breathing correction is accentuated.

Fast and precise autofocus

Equipped with four XD linear motors, this lens will quickly prove its effectiveness in situations of speed in photos or fluidity in video. The 16-35 f/2.8 GM II is designed for use with Sony's AI chips introduced in the A7R V, for fast and smooth autofocus.

Front lens with fluorine coating

The front lens elements feature a fluorine coating that prevents dust and fingerprints from sticking to the lens surface and makes cleaning easier when needed.

Smooth and versatile operation

A focus hold button, manual focus ring, AF/MF switch and other controls put the lens in easy, fingertip adjustment. It is possible to customize the barrel buttons through a menu on the case. This menu allows you to assign a number of functions to these buttons, depending on the needs of the user.
