the LUMIX S 85mm / F1.8 (S-S85), an ultra compact and bright lens that performs equally well in stills and video. From the system of
L-mount, it complements the full-frame Lumix S hybrid range.
Specially suited for professional use, the Lumix S range offers unique photographic expression possibilities thanks to its uncompromising high quality optics and housings. This 85mm F1.8 lens is the first in a line of four future F1.8 aperture lenses announced by Panasonic.

The new LUMIX S 85mm F1.8 is an ultra compact and lightweight lens. In particular, it offers the possibility of obtaining portraits with exceptional bokeh or successful night photos thanks to its large aperture.

Composed of 9 elements in 8 groups, the combination of 2 extra-low dispersion lenses of this optic effectively prevents axial and magnification chromatic aberrations. Like all Lumix S series lenses, the 85mm F1.8 delivers smooth, round bokeh with no vignetting. Its 9-blade circular diaphragm construction offers a subtle gradation of the background blur, from the center to the edges of the image.

In video, the LUMIX S 85mm F1.8 also ensures high performance recording, thanks to a “Focus-Breathing” suppression mechanism, a key criterion for videographers looking for excellent video performance.
