Its extremely versatile focal length range goes from 28mm wide-angle to 400mm super telephoto, with everything in between! Capture stunning wide shots of natural or urban landscapes, get closer for creative portraits of people or architectural details, or zoom in all the way to seek out shy wildlife in their natural habitat.

Ultra-smooth handling
With its compact proportions and weight of just 725g, this 14.2x zoom fits easily in your bag, and you can even leave it mounted on your camera while you walk around. Even pushed up to 400mm, this super zoom is incredibly well balanced and much easier to handle than a fixed focal length super telephoto lens.

The super zoom that loves close-ups
This versatile zoom allows you to focus on subjects as close as 0.2m at the maximum wide-angle focal length, and 1.2m if you've zoomed in up to 400mm. With a maximum reproduction ratio of 0.35x, you can even get fabulous close-ups. However, be aware of the included lens hood if it is attached to the lens: this super zoom can get so close that you have to make sure not to touch your subject with the lens hood!

VR image stabilization ensures stable shots
5.0 speeds gained with built-in optical vibration reduction help eliminate shake, for sharp shots even in low light conditions. If you're shooting fast action, SPORT mode also helps stabilize the image in the viewfinder. Additionally, if you mount this wide-angle to super telephoto zoom lens on a Nikon Z camera with VR Synchro, you can gain up to 5.5 shutter speeds.
