Detailed construction
With an optical design comprising 18 elements divided into 13 groups, the Leica Super-Vario-Elmarit-SL 14-24 f/2.8 ASPH. provides excellent correction of distortions and aberrations. Three of these lenses are aspherical, which helps minimize chromatic aberrations for premium image and video quality, while maintaining a compact size. The Aqua-Dura® coating on the outer lenses and integrated sunshade help reduce stray light, with the sunshade also providing additional protection for the prominently curvature front lens. A special mount on the bayonet facilitates the use of transparent filters.
