The GF20-35mmF4 R WR is a zoom lens that spans the 20mm focal length (equivalent to 16mm in 35mm film format), the widest in the GF lens series, to extend the wide-angle end of photographic categories. Mounted on GFX series digital cameras, this lens exploits the full potential of the camera's large format sensor to deliver high image quality. In addition, by using the ultra wide angle (UWA) viewfinder, users can accurately capture information-dense scenes such as wilderness and cityscapes that stretch out before their eyes.

The GF20-35mmF4 R WR covers the focal length range from 20mm UWA to 35mm wide angle (equivalent to 16mm - 28mm in 35mm film format). It consists of 14 lens elements in ten groups, including three aspherical elements, one ED aspherical element and three ED elements to suppress distortion and chromatic aberration. The lens also features a Nano GI coating that effectively controls ghosting and lens flair to achieve a clear image. While UWA zooms tend to be large and heavy, this model has been kept compact and light, weighing in at about 725g and measuring about 112.5mm for exceptional mobility. It offers a consistent F4 maximum aperture across the entire focal length range for convenience. In addition, the use of a versatile 82mm filter expands the range of visual expression by attaching a wide variety of filters.

The GF20-35mmF4 R WR is designed to provide a more comfortable shooting experience for landscape photographers, who spend many hours outdoors in search of expansive views. The GF20-35mmF4 R WR is a zoom lens that covers the 20mm focal length (equivalent to 16mm in 35mm format), the widest in the GF lens series. It is capable of accurately capturing information-dense scenes, such as wilderness and cityscapes spread out before their eyes, and taking pictures that take advantage of the wide-angle perspective.

The lens is composed of 14 elements in ten groups, including seven aspherical elements and ED elements, to suppress distortion and chromatic aberration and provide excellent image resolution performance. It can capture all the information, largely captured in the wide angle frame, and render it in high definition description.

The lens features Fujifilm's unique NANO GI coating, which transparently changes the refractive index of incoming light as it enters the lens to reduce light reflection. A special coating is also applied to the concave surface of the lens elements with a large curvature to even out the film thickness and reduce ghosting and flare, which are characteristic of wide angle lenses.

The GF20-35mmF4 R WR features an optimized structure of lens elements and makes full use of the short flange focal length typical of mirrorless digital cameras. Although it is a UWA zoom lens with a maximum aperture of F4.0 across the entire zoom range, the lens has remained light and compact, weighing about 725g and measuring about 112.5mm in length. This reduces the effort users have to put into carrying a camera equipped with this lens.

The lens uses the 82mm versatile filter format, which allows users to attach a variety of filters for landscape photography, etc.
Magnesium alloy is used for the components to make the lens lightweight yet strong. The shape of the components has been redesigned to keep the barrel of the lens slim, making the lens easier to grip.

The lens uses the internal zoom system to keep its length constant, making it light and comfortable to zoom.

(3) Rugged design with dust and weather resistance and operating capability at -10℃.
The lens barrel is weather sealed at 12 locations to ensure dust and weather resistance, and has the ability to operate at temperatures as low as -10℃. The front lens element is applied with a fluorine coating to repel water and provide stain protection.
