Nine years after its predecessor, Fujifilm’s flagship F2.8 standard zoom lens is reborn. The FUJINON XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II lens features revolutionary design updates that go beyond simple evolutionary advancements, as well as expanded video capabilities to help it excel in a wider range of scenarios. Compact and lightweight, this zoom fits in the palm of your hand, while delivering image quality that rivals a prime lens.

Cutting-edge optical technology in a lens just 95mm (3.74 inches) long:
Advances in lens manufacturing techniques have led to a significant reduction in the size and weight of the XF16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR II lens compared to its predecessor, the XF16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR. Thanks to improved polishing and machining, as well as advanced assembly techniques, the second-generation lens is now 11mm shorter and approximately 37% lighter than its predecessor. The filter thread has also been reduced to 72mm, so the new lens uses the same filters as the original XF50-140mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR lens.

Building on the renowned sharpness of XF zoom lenses:
While maintaining the exceptional sharpness of its award-winning predecessor, an additional ED element has been added to the XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II lens to improve edge sharpness and minimise chromatic aberration. In addition, advances in aspherical lens technology and ultra-fine machining combine to reduce ring patterns and create smooth bokeh effects. Even at maximum aperture, an area where zoom lenses traditionally struggle, it delivers high-quality results with ultra-fine detail.

Creativity without compromise:
From wide-angle to telephoto, the XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II lens lets you record every moment with the utmost precision. At 16mm, it offers wide coverage; 23mm is ideal for everyday scenes and brings documentaries and street photography to life; while the 55mm is ideal for portraits and allows you to focus on details. Regardless of the focal length chosen, the F2.8 maximum aperture offers excellent low-light performance and, thanks to its unique 11-blade diaphragm, a soft and pronounced bokeh effect.

Ultra-fast, near-silent autofocus without loss of performance:
Despite its compact size, the XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II lens produces exceptional autofocus performance. This is thanks to a specially designed linear motor that enables fast, near-silent autofocus. The minimum focusing distance of 0.3 m (11.8 in.) and maximum magnification of 0.21x provide impressive reach for close-up images.

New Features for Hybrid Creation Use:
Although primarily created for stills photographers, the XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II lens also caters to the needs of video creatives. For the first time on an XF Lens, a switch allows users to disable the aperture ring’s click stops for smooth, near-silent exposure control, free from clicks and vibrations*.
