Connectivity at the highest level
The functions of the SL3 have been developed in close collaboration with professionals. Thus, the case has many connectivity options for data transfer and wireless connection. These include slots for CFexpress Type B and SD UHS-II cards, a USB-C port, as well as a standard HDMI output and a jack for timecode. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi ensure a stable and fast wireless connection.

Full-frame sensor with triple resolution technology and image stabilization
The 60-megapixel Leica SL3 sensor offers a dynamic range of up to 15 stops, 14-bit color depth and exceptional noise reduction, ensuring breathtaking images. Available in three different resolutions: 60, 36 and 18 million pixels, in DNG and JPG formats. Its ISO sensitivity ranges from ISO 50 to 100,000, ensuring exceptional results in all lighting conditions. In addition, the risk of camera shake is effectively compensated by 5-axis image stabilization (IBIS).

Maestro IV processor
This latest generation image processor guarantees fast and reliable operation of the photo and video functions of the Leica SL3. Noise optimization, fast signal processing and color reproduction unique to Leica are just some of the many aspects that this high-performance processor with L2 technology brings to photo and video, for an inimitable Leica rendering. The Maestro IV supports the data transfer speed of the CFexpress Type B interface and the ability to record 8K video as well as a range of highly efficient video codecs.

Precise autofocus system
The SL3's autofocus system combines three technologies using efficient algorithms. Depending on the shooting situation, the interaction between phase detection (PDAF), object detection and contrast detection is optimally adjusted. The SL3 thus produces perfectly sharp images whatever the light. Intelligent subject recognition also allows you to photograph dynamic scenes. The strengths of each technology are combined into a highly precise system that effortlessly meets all professional requirements.

Leica's unique user interface design
Leica product design has always enjoyed an international reputation. The Leica SL3 exceeds all requirements for intuitive, user-centric operation. With its sophisticated icons and menus, manually operated touchscreen and clearly structured navigation, the SL3 facilitates a smooth workflow while shooting. The photo and video functions are clearly separated by their color range: red for photo and yellow for video.

Customization based on individual preferences
The SL3's main controls can be fully customized to individual requirements. Easily configurable FN buttons and additional controls are included, as well as the ability to customize the assignment of frequently used functions in the control center on the tilting 3.2-inch touchscreen. The display of screen icons detects the horizontal and vertical orientation of the case and automatically adapts to the direction of grip, thus guaranteeing optimal readability. With its energy-saving sleep mode, the SL3 is ready to shoot with just a click of the shutter button.

Optimized design
The SL3 is significantly lighter and more compact than its predecessors and fits perfectly in the hand. The optimized design of the camera ensures a perfect balance between all Leica L-mount lenses in the range, making the SL3 a particularly comfortable tool for demanding creatives. The elegant leather finish, also featured on the separately sold handle, provides optimal grip and a feeling of sophistication.

This is also supported by continuous firmware updates which can be easily installed using the Leica FOTOS app. The IP54 certification of the robust all-metal housing guarantees extensive protection against humidity and dust; which allows the camera to be used even in extreme working conditions.

High-resolution EyeRes® viewfinder
The SL3's electronic viewfinder is carefully crafted with high-quality glass lenses with surface treatment. This allows optimal image display in the viewfinder with a resolution of 5.76 million pixels and up to 120 B/s. Exposure and composition can thus be reliably assessed using direct preview. Thanks to the built-in eye sensor, automatic switching between the viewfinder and Live-View screen occurs when the camera is not placed directly in front of the eye.

Fast data transfer with or without cable
Among the SL3's numerous data transfer and connectivity interfaces are CFexpress Type B and SD UHS-II card slots, a USB-C port for fast data transfer, tethering and charging, and an HDMI Type-A output for external monitors or recording devices. A dedicated timecode socket ensures image and sound synchronization for multi-camera video productions. In addition, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi with MIMO technology ensure a stable and fast connection to the Leica FOTOS app. So high-resolution DNG photos can be transferred from the camera to a mobile device in about 2 seconds. A mobile workflow that evolves over time.
