There are many elements involved in creating a high precision/high contrast, bright and crisp display. We are constantly refining our monitor technology, using only the highest quality materials and carefully calibrating each monitor during production. Thanks to these efforts, you can always count on excellent image reproduction.
4K UHD resolution

With a resolution of 3840 x 2160 (4K UHD), the CG2700X has a huge pixel density of 164 ppi. Visible monitor pixels are guaranteed to be a thing of the past and even the monitor display gives a very meaningful impression of the subsequent print resolution. The IPS panel has a maximum brightness of 500 cd/m² and achieves a contrast ratio of 1450:1. Films can be evaluated, edited and calibrated with the CG2700X in 4K UHD resolution. The LCD module offers a viewing angle of 178 degrees. This ensures that colour tones and contrast remain stable within the user's viewing cone.

Wide Colour Space for Saturated Colours
To be able to use the full colour spectrum of modern cameras, you need a monitor with the largest possible colour space. Only then is it possible to visually evaluate and modify the saturated hues contained in the file. This is why the IPS panel of the ColorEdge CG2700X covers, for example, the wide AdobeRGB photo gamut as well as the ISO-Coated V2 CMYK print gamut to over 99%. This means that the full colour spectrum of modern cameras is represented without alteration and without gaps. The accurate simulation of the print result in the softproof view is also guaranteed.

Smooth transitions and gradients thanks to the 16-bit LUT and 10-bit mode
The CG2700X LUT performs internal 16-bit calculations for extremely high colour depth and outputs signals in 10-bit mode. This provides billions of hues to calculate the monitor's accurate display, effectively avoiding monitor-induced display errors such as banding or clipping, which can lead to tonal breaks in gradations or unnecessary colour in greyscale. Even fine nuances and structures in dark or highly saturated areas of the image can be displayed in a differentiated and detailed manner.

True Black: Colour depth for plastic images
Dark tones often appear weak or washed out on LCD screens. True Black improves the contrast ratio and dark tones appear deeper, especially when viewed from the side.

Digital Uniformity Equalizer: perfect rendering across the screen
Each individual screen panel is precisely measured over its entire surface in the EIZO factory. Any unnecessary brightness and colour inhomogeneities are detected and eliminated. This process (Digital Uniformity Equalizer) ensures that identical colours will always look the same throughout the life of the monitor, no matter where they are displayed. Only in this way is accurate image processing and editing possible.

Built-in sensor for self-calibration
A built-in calibration sensor guarantees maximum colour accuracy. The sensor is perfectly aligned with the monitor, takes into account environmental influences such as light and correlates the centre and edge of the image. This ensures a uniform result across the entire monitor.

The sensor is located in the bezel and is only taken out for measurements. This means that no external calibration device is required and the colour fidelity of the monitor is optimal at all times.

The CG2700X is equipped with the latest sensor technology, which allows it to be recalibrated on the fly. This means you can continue to work with non-colour critical applications while the monitor is calibrating. The sensor occupies only a small space on the screen during calibration and therefore does not interfere. Calibration can also take place fully automatically at set times, even if the computer is switched off or not connected to the monitor at all.

Stable display with advanced AI
To ensure accurate display of gradations, colours, brightness and other characteristics even when the ambient temperature changes, the ColorEdge CG2700X is equipped with a temperature sensor. It accurately measures the monitor's internal temperature, while an AI (artificial intelligence)* assisted correction algorithm distinguishes between different temperature change patterns and calculates a precise adjustment in real time.

Stable colour reproduction in just three minutes
It takes at least 30 minutes for a conventional monitor to stabilise brightness, chromaticity and tonal values, whereas the ColorEdge CG2700X needs only three minutes. This means users know they can trust the monitor's colours soon after they turn it on.

Calibration right out of the box
Ready to use right out of the box: perfect settings right from the factory.
Each ColorEdge CG2700X is individually measured and optimally configured at the factory, allowing it to be used immediately after unpacking. To this end, the gamma curves of the red, green and blue channels are closely monitored and corrected, if necessary. This unique EIZO factory calibration allows the user to start using the monitor with the predefined gamut range right out of the box. This thorough factory calibration ensures that the user can quickly recalibrate the monitor if necessary using ColorNavigator.

EIZO Software for Fast Calibration and Printing
Every monitor ages and changes its display properties. For this reason, graphic monitors, which require an absolutely constant image display throughout their lifetime, must be regularly calibrated and adjusted. With EIZO's free ColorNavigator calibration software, the ColorEdge CG2700X can be adjusted in 90 seconds (measured with a MacBook Pro and an EX4), easily and without any loss. This ensures that the same image will still look the same on the monitor five years from now.

For users who want to calibrate multiple monitors in the company, EIZO offers the ColorNavigator Network tool. This tool allows quality management of multiple ColorEdge monitors to be performed centrally. Among other things, an administrator can provide calibration targets to users and trigger automatic calibration of CG Series ColorEdge monitors. With the help of a secure cloud server offered by EIZO, it is possible to administer this central quality management across multiple locations and even multiple continents.

EIZO microchip for optimised colour reproduction
The CG2700X is equipped with a high-quality ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit), which EIZO has specially developed to meet the special requirements of colour-accurate jobs. This microchip is the brain of a ColorEdge, as it guarantees the precise, uniform and consistent display of images that is the hallmark of EIZO.

Accurate Colour Reproduction with the High Resolution 3D LUT
The 3D LUT ensures the most accurate assignment of tonal values and extremely faithful colour reproduction, which is particularly noticeable in the grey corner. In LCDs, the brightness levels vary from module to module depending on the image signal and the mixing (addition) of red, green and blue colours. This phenomenon can only be accurately recorded and controlled with the help of particularly precise measuring devices.

Ex works, EIZO therefore adjusts each monitor of the CG series and its colour and tone curve. This ensures that the colour temperature is constant over the entire grey scale. The result is identical, accurate and reliable colour reproduction for each CG2700X.

HDR Gamma
The ColorEdge CG2700X supports both gamma curves for HDR video: the HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) curve and the PQ (Perceptual Quantization) curve. Up to the maximum brightness of 500 cd/m², the CG2700X thus ensures a meaningful impression of the processed HDR material, so that an HDR reference monitor such as the ColorEdge CG3146 is often only required in the final production stage.

Gamut Presets for Film and Video Production
The presets for DCI-P3, BT.709 and BT.2020 colour spaces are accurately calibrated ex-factory and allow correct gamma values to be used. In addition, the colour modes for PQ (DCI and BT.2100) and HLG (BT.2100) for the display of HDR content are also preset at the factory. The brightness setting for each preset can be conveniently adjusted and recalibrated using the built-in calibration sensor.

Safety in sight with the safety zone marker
Ideal for subtitles and critical images: With the safe area marker, you know which area of the scene is displayed in a different aspect ratio. This means that you can immediately see whether subtitles, text or important picture elements are in the visible area. You can adjust the colour, size and aspect ratio of the marker so that it is clearly visible in every image.

Automatic Color Adjustments
The ColorEdge CG2700X offers the Sync Signal feature, which adjusts monitor settings such as signal range and colour format to the video signal, providing consistent colour settings throughout the production process.

Brightness Warning
The brightness warning can be used to mark areas that exceed a certain brightness (300, 500, 1000 or 4000 cd/m²) when using the PQ mode. These areas are marked in either yellow or magenta.

Gamut warning
The gamut warning operates in two modes: Rec. 2020 image content that cannot be displayed in the Rec. 709 gamut is displayed in grayscale. Otherwise, the clipping mode is simulated in Rec. 709 to show how the Rec. 2020 content would be displayed on HDTV devices.
Nearest Neighbor Interpolation Setting

The ColorEdge CG2700X offers the Nearest Neighbour interpolation setting as an option for image scaling and resampling. With this scaling, the Nearest Neighbour setting copies neighbouring pixels while maintaining colour fidelity. If Nearest Neighbour is disabled, colour tones are interpolated between neighbouring pixels, resulting in smoother transitions. Users can select the interpolation method best suited to the project for different resolutions.

Ideal for video and film production: HDMI
Movies are normally recorded at 24 frames per second. Therefore, they appear unnatural with conventional 60 Hz monitor rendering. The monitor supports a frame rate of 24 and 60 Hz. This means that you can view and edit your film material as it was taken.

HDMI signals with refresh rates of 60, 50, 30, 25 and 24 Hz are supported. The monitor also has an I/P conversion function.

4K Zoom
Users can quickly and easily make selections directly from the monitor menu to zoom in on various areas of the monitor image to assess detail and sharpness.
4K DCI Crop

The DCI 4K Crop feature allows users to display a DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) signal and crop the content outside the native 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution limits of the panel. Users can choose from three options that determine which part of the image is displayed.

A wide variety of ports
A growing number of creative professionals don't just use their laptops when they're on the move. A powerful laptop is often their only computer, so more and more of them want to integrate their laptop into their home or work office. EIZO is responding to this trend with the new ColorEdge graphics monitors.

Advanced Connectivity with USB-C
Image signaling, USB data transfer as well as power supply with up to 94 Watt, all this and more can be achieved with a single USB-C cable. This makes the ColorEdge CG2700X the central dock in the graphics workflow. Peripherals such as a mouse, keyboard or printer can be connected directly to the USB-A ports. Mobile devices such as laptops or tablets can even be charged via the USB-C cable with up to 94 Watt of power. This means that a laptop and the CG2700X can be transformed into a full-fledged desktop workstation in no time.

Monitor Ports
The CG2700X supports a wide range of video formats via USB-C, HDMI and DisplayPort interfaces. This means that the monitor can not only be integrated into PC workflows, but also used with HDMI power supplies.
