Stable and powerful NG 60 professional level output
Manufactured by Sony, the HVL-F60RM2 flash communicates with α housings to provide consistent light output to NG 60 with each flash. It is compatible with focal lengths between 20mm (14mm with the wide panel) to 200mm.
Up to 20 flashes / s
The flash can produce approximately 20 flashes per second continuously for more than 1s when shooting using the electronic shutter on a compatible camera. The FA-EBA1 external flash battery allows approximately 20 flashes per second for more than 10 s.
Synchronization up to 1/400 s with a compatible camera
With a compatible camera body, the HVL-F60RM2 flash provides sync up to 1/400 s. This high sync speed allows you to dim the background while using the flash to illuminate the main subject, but also to illuminate moving subjects against a bright background and more.
Ultra-fast, stable burst shooting
Mounted on a compatible camera, the HVL-F60RM2 flash can deliver up to 200 continuous flashes of high-speed burst up to 10 fps. This prevents underexposed images due to poor flash synchronization and provides stable continuous shooting support.
Minimum flash firing delay
Using the HVL-F60RM2 flash with a compatible camera can dramatically reduce the delay between pressing the shutter button and flashing the flash, so you can capture fleeting moments with confidence.
Flash control and face detection
With a compatible camera, white balance is automatically adjusted for natural-looking faces. Synchronized with the face detection function of a compatible camera, the HVL-F60RM2 flash ensures ideal illumination of the main subject, even in a group.
P-TTL image flash control
With a compatible camera, the camera's high-speed sync sequence uses a preflash to control each of the flashes during bursts, even for tracking moving subjects in scenes with large changes in light.
Fast and reliable recycling in super-fast burst
Advanced electronics and design allow short recycle times and enable burst flash shooting for extended periods of time. The four batteries provide a battery life of over 240 flashes with recycle times of 1.7s. Using the FA-EBA1 external flash battery (optional) allows recycling times as low as 0.6s.
Overheating protection for longer sessions
Coupled with an optimized flash algorithm, the use of heat resistant materials provides increased resistance to overheating, allowing for longer flash shooting sessions.
High accuracy of auto white balance
Thanks to its exclusive design, this flash with advanced features communicates color temperature data to the camera. These then allow you to set the white balance with precision, producing a natural rendering of colors, whatever the situation.
Selectable flash distribution types
Three types of flash distribution provided: Standard (STD), Guide Number Priority (CENTER) and Wide Angle Priority (HOMOGENOUS).
Output matched to focal length and resolution
The flash illumination angle varies automatically to match the focal length of the lens being used (20 to 200mm). The light distribution is also adjusted for optimal illumination depending on the format (full or APS-C).
Slow, high speed and rear curtain sync
High-speed sync works at all shutter speeds and can be used at large apertures to achieve beautiful background bokeh for portraits. Slow and second curtain synchronizations are also supported.
A metal claw base with a sturdy side frame
The multi-interface metal shoe features a sturdy side frame that greatly improves its strength and durability while protecting its electrical contacts.
Improved resistance to dust and humidity
Its dust and moisture resistant design contributes to its high reliability outdoors. With certain ranges of enclosures, the reinforced seal at the junction with the accessory shoe allows increased resistance to dust and humidity.
Controls from a compatible camera
Flash compensation, ratios and other settings can be adjusted directly from a compatible camera. You can pair the flash screen with one of the camera's customizable keys to easily adjust settings while aiming.
Quick angle adjustment with head rotation
Quickly rotate the flash head 90 ° left or right, 150 ° up or 8 ° down and switch from horizontal to vertical orientation in an instant. More compact, the revised mechanism is also more convenient.
Quick and easy light intensity control
Dedicated LEVEL + and - buttons allow direct and fast control of brightness and flash compensation. These can also be used to control the same settings on other wireless linked flash units, for smooth and efficient work.
Efficient TTL light intensity memory
TTL flash intensities can be memorized, then recalled for manual adjustment. This feature can dramatically reduce the time required to manually configure the flash in a wide variety of situations.
Improved rear display for quick navigation
With a single press of the Fn button, you can display the selected flash mode and other settings on the screen, for quick setup in various shooting situations. If its predecessor (HVL-F60RM) only displayed the Wireless OFF and Memory Recall OFF icons when the Fn button was pressed, these settings are present by default on the HVL-F60RM2 flash screen.
Versatile wireless radio communication
Radio connectivity guarantees stable wireless communication up to distances of 30m. Communication remains reliable and flawless even in the presence of reflectors or other obstacles. Slow and second curtain sync are supported, as are multi-flash configurations.
Automatic white balance with color filters

Radio control for controlling up to 15 flashes
Control up to 15 flashes and / or receivers in 5 groups. Using the FA-WRC1M transmitter and / or FA-WRR1 receiver (both optional), the HVL-F60RM2 flash can communicate with flashes that do not have wireless radio connectivity.
Flash control with reflector adapter
When using the supplied reflector adapter, the flash communicates with the camera and adopts optimal distribution for soft, even light. The wide panel further enhances this effect.
Remote camera release
The remote trigger function allows the camera's flash and shutter to be triggered simultaneously from a distance, making it easy to shoot the same subject from multiple angles.
End of recycling sound alert
An audible alert indicates the end of recycling following the triggering of the flash. This allows you to easily monitor the status of an entire wireless radio triggered lighting system.
