UHD 4K resolution: Maximum sharpness

Hardware calibration: Go ahead with your eyes closed: you can see correctly
Every ColorEdge display is perfectly calibrated at the factory. To maintain the same accuracy throughout the life of the product, EIZO's free ColorNavigator software allows the screen to be calibrated at the hardware level without loss. This way, the same image will look the same year after year.

4K UHD resolution
The CS2740 has, thanks to the resolution 3840 x 2160 (4K UHD), the enormous pixel density of 164 ppi. Pixels visible on the screen are therefore a thing of the past and the screen display already gives a very telling impression of the subsequent print resolution. The IPS panel has a maximum brightness of 350 cd/m² and achieves a contrast ratio of 1000:1. Movies can be rated, edited and burned in full 4K UHD resolution with the CS2740. The LCD module allows a viewing angle of 178 degrees. Colors and contrasts thus remain stable in the user's cone of vision.

Wide Gamut color space
To be able to use the entire color spectrum of modern cameras, you need a monitor with as wide a color space as possible. Otherwise, it is not possible to visually assess and process the saturated tones contained in the file. That's why the IPS panel on the ColorEdge CS2740, for example, covers more than 99% of the wide AdobeRGB photographic color space, as well as the CMYK ISO-Coated V2 printing color space. Thus, the full color spectrum of modern cameras is represented without distortion and flawlessly. An accurate simulation of the print result in the Softproof view is also guaranteed.

Exceptional image quality
The monitor convinces with its maximum resolution (3840 x 2160 (4K UHD)), a very good contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a maximum brightness of 350 cd/m². This allows you, for example, to edit graphics and images with pixel precision. In addition, the outlines of the text are clear and precise. The LCD module with IPS (Wide Gamut) allows a viewing angle of 178 degrees. Colors and contrasts thus remain stable in the user's cone of vision.

Smooth transitions and gradients with 16-bit LUT and 10-bit mode
The CS2740's look-up table (LUT) calculates internally with an extremely high color depth of 16 bits and the panel then outputs the signals with up to 10 bits. Thus, billions of color shades are available for calculating the precise representation of the monitor. Representation errors caused by the monitor, such as banding or clipping, which result in tonal breaks in gradients or color pinholes in gray levels, are thus effectively avoided. Even fine nuances and structures in dark or heavily saturated areas of the image are thus represented differentiated and faithful to detail.

Perfect from the factory
To ensure a ColorEdge is ready for use right out of the box, each CS2740 ColorEdge is individually measured at the factory and optimally tuned. To do this, the gamma curves of the red, green and blue channels are closely monitored and, if necessary, corrected. This unique factory calibration from EIZO allows the user to use the monitor with the preset color spaces directly after unboxing - out of the box. It is also thanks to this complex factory calibration that recalibration by the user with ColorNavigator is so fast.

Digital Uniformity Equalizer
Each screen tile is precisely measured over its entire surface in the EIZO factory. Any inhomogeneities in brightness as well as color points are detected and eliminated. This process (Digital Uniformity Equalizer) ensures that identical colors always look the same for the entire duration of use of the monitor, regardless of where they are displayed. This is the only way to perform accurate image processing and editing.

Uncompromising hardware calibration
For a monitor to always display the same file in the same way throughout its duration of use, it is essential to calibrate it regularly. To achieve this, all ColorEdge monitors use the lossless hardware calibration process. Unlike software calibration, which always carries a risk of loss of display quality, hardware calibration does not simply create a correction profile for the graphics card, but adjusts the conversion table (LUT) of the monitor.

HDR Gamma support
EIZO offers optional HLG and PQ curves for the CS2740 as part of calibration with ColorNavigator. Optimized gamma curves make images appear more realistic compared to SDR, as the human eye perceives the real world.

EIZO microchip
The CS2740 features a high-quality microchip (ASIC, Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) that EIZO has specially developed to meet the special requirements of working in faithful colors. This microchip is the brain of each ColorEdge and guarantees the precise, uniform and consistent display that EIZO is known for.
