The Think Tank Photo Shape Shifter Backpack 37L is engineered for professional photographers, photojournalists and travelling photographers who need to carry a substantial amount of equipment while maintaining a relatively compact backpack.

Its distinctive Shape Shifter design allows the bag to expand, compress and reshape itself depending on the amount of equipment being carried. Capacity can be adjusted from 33 to 37 litres. When empty, the backpack can also compress flat, making it easier to pack inside other luggage when travelling.

Holds up to two cameras and three lenses

The Shape Shifter 37L provides enough space for up to two gripped camera bodies and three lenses.

It can accommodate a telephoto lens up to 300mm f/2.8, making it an attractive solution for sports, news, wildlife, nature and event photographers.

Multiple cameras can also be carried with lenses attached, helping photographers keep their equipment ready for use in fast-moving situations.

Fully reconfigurable interior organisation

Rather than relying on a conventional system of numerous rigid dividers, the Shape Shifter features a divider-free interior designed to provide greater flexibility.

Reconfigurable modular gear pouches and hold-down straps allow the internal organisation to be adapted to different combinations of camera bodies and lenses. Equipment can therefore remain protected and organised while maintaining a streamlined packing configuration.

A zippered pocket inside the main compartment provides additional storage for smaller accessories.

Quick access to a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens

The front side pockets are designed to accommodate equipment including a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. Adjustable dividers with hook-and-loop attachment allow these pockets to be configured according to the equipment being carried.

This arrangement keeps frequently used equipment readily accessible without requiring the photographer to reorganise the entire backpack.

Dedicated 16-inch laptop compartment

The padded rear compartment accommodates a laptop up to 16 inches, with maximum stated dimensions of:

The rear compartment also incorporates two mesh accessory pockets for cables, external drives, memory cards and other smaller items.

The Shape Shifter 37L provides multiple additional storage options.

An expandable front pocket with a built-in organiser provides space for various accessories, while the top front pocket keeps items such as a smartphone, wallet and keys within easy reach.

A hidden security pocket provides discreet storage for valuables. Think Tank Photo has also incorporated a dedicated business card holder for quick bag identification.

Carry a tripod, monopod or light stand

A multipurpose support system allows a tripod, monopod or light stand to be carried directly on the backpack.

A dedicated water bottle pocket is also provided. The backpack is not designed for use with a hydration bladder.

Compression system for a slimmer profile

Integrated compression straps reduce the depth of the backpack when its full capacity is not required.

This gives the Shape Shifter a slimmer profile during travel while retaining the ability to expand to its maximum 37-litre capacity when additional equipment needs to be carried.

Comfortable carrying throughout the day

Think Tank Photo equips the Shape Shifter with ergonomic adjustable backpack straps and an adjustable sternum strap.

A removable, tuck-away waist belt provides additional support when carrying heavier loads and can be removed when it is not required.

The shoulder straps also feature D-rings for attaching additional accessories.

A top grab handle provides a convenient alternative for quickly picking up or moving the backpack.

A belt pass-through allows the Shape Shifter to accommodate the optional Think Tank Photo Pro Speed Belt, providing another way to customise the carrying system according to the photographer's requirements.

Designed for air travel

The Shape Shifter 37L has been developed with travelling photographers in mind. Its dimensions meet most international and domestic airline carry-on requirements, although individual airline restrictions should always be checked before travelling.

A luggage pass-through/trolley sleeve allows the backpack to be conveniently attached to the telescopic handle of rolling luggage when moving through airports or railway stations.
