High quality sound with low noise level
When the microphone is connected to the accessory shoe of a compatible camera incorporating a digital audio interface, the audio signal is directly transferred to the camera in digital format, without any alteration. A simple switch allows it to be connected to a wider range of models equipped with an analog interface.

Extensive connectivity
Two XLR / TRS sockets and a 3.5mm stereo mini jack are provided for inputs. XLR / TRS can be configured for audio in (line), microphone in, or microphone in with 48V phantom power.

Flexible installation
Everything has been designed to offer maximum flexibility when used with professional camera frames and rigs. Audio extensions are provided to adjust the location of the XLR adapter on the rig.

Wireless connection
Simply attach the XLR adapter to the accessory shoe of a compatible camera to directly power it and hook up audio, eliminating the need for cables and batteries. The Sony Accessory Shoe allows a variety of accessories to be connected and controlled intelligently, for maximum flexibility and mobility when shooting with the α models.

Suppression of mechanical noise
The advanced anti-shock and anti-vibration design effectively reduces low-frequency handling noise that may adversely affect audio quality. The ability to connect the microphone to the camera without a cable also limits handling noise that affects your recording.

Full control
The high level of control during recording facilitates the post-production workflow. A recording mode control (AUTO / MANUAL), a link for each mode (INPUT 1 - INPUT 2), an attenuator and a low pass filter (100/300 Hz) are included.

Super-directional shotgun included
A super-directional monaural microphone (ECM-XM1) and a furry windscreen to reduce wind noise are provided.
